A one-farm operation turning organic waste into premium biological products — right here in Reno, Nevada.
Hi, I'm Ron.
High Desert Bioworks started the way most good things do — with a problem that needed a better solution. I was raising rabbits and watching perfectly good manure go to waste. Meanwhile, my garden was paying $40 a bag for soil amendments that didn't hold a candle to what I was throwing away.
That observation led to an obsession with biological systems — how black soldier fly larvae could convert organic waste into high-protein animal feed in days, how red wiggler worms could transform the simplest scraps into the richest soil amendment on earth, and how a commercial freeze dryer could lock all of that nutrition in place for years.
High Desert Bioworks is the result of that journey. Everything we produce is raised right here in Reno. Every bag of worm castings, every pouch of freeze dried BSFL, every batch of Quad Power blend — it came from this property, processed by these systems, with complete traceability from feedstock to finished product.
That's something no big-box store can offer. And it's something I'm proud to put my name on.
